DVD to AVI

Having searched since July for an acceptable program that will transfer DVD
contents to an AVI format that MS moviemaker can handle I finally stumbled
onto EasyDivx. This program rips, decodes, and encodes all in one continuous
process without user intervention, and it is free. Thought I mention it for
those like me who have unedited old family movies of the 8mm kind and who
prefer to have a lab put them on DVD first before editing and jazzing it up
with titles, transitions and sound etc.

Hi there,

Thanks for that, I will go and look for it, I have stuff going back to the
standard 8 & Super 8 cine film days that I must get converted.

Thanks. I downloaded it and added your post and a link to the Importing
Source Files... Video Clips page of my site.

If you copy the .vob files from your dvd to your hard
drive and then rename them to .mpg files, moviemaker will
import them just fine.

Just remember that's dvd quality video, not avi.
