i am having a problem with my DVD-RW drive, keeps saying that there is no
disk in the drive when there is. The drive works as it spins the disk and it
lights up, also the CD icon comes up next to the mouse as usual.

I have tried updating the drivers and also uninstalling and re installing
them and that doesn't work - can anyone help

thank you

Does the disk have data on it?

That is possible, but highly unlikely, since most DVD writers can also read/write to CD-R(W)s also.

I do not recall the OP saying anything about CDs.

" i am having a problem with my DVD-RW drive, keeps saying that there is no

so without more info, i assume the post is about trying to burn a DVD.

Nor did the OP mention DVDs, but you posted if the OP was using the correct blanks, and list DVD-R or DVD+R. I added that it more than likely doesn't make a difference as most DVD burners will read write to CD-R(W)s also as well as both types of DVDs.

Hmm, maybe the OP can clarify the question.

I know this may sound nuts but I had the same problem,if I would the drive

from then on.I modify the address from D to K and have had no more problem
p.s. mind would only fail with drive letter D Paul
