DVD ROM

I just installed a BTC DVD drive that will only recognize
CD's and not DVD's. I've checked the drivers but that
doesn't seem to be the problem since the system is
recognizing that the drive is a DVD drive, it just won't
recognize the fact that I put a DVD in it. Any help
would be great.
