DVD-ROM not working

I just installed a new DVD drive but no dvd's will play.
The drive won't even read normal cd's. I did set the
region settings for the drive, and there are no updated
drivers for me to get. I've tried WMP, WinDVD, and
PowerDVD. None of which will let me watch dvd's so I know
it's the drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered it might be the drive itself that is defective?

That's exactly what I said. "None of which will let me
watch dvd's so I knowwas switch the jumpers on the 2 cd drives and it worked.
