dvd rom drive

I opened my systems DVD ROM tray and while it was open accidentally knocked
the tray. The tray doesn't now shut, although there is a clicking noise
inside as it is trying to close .
Can anyone help please.

There is a gear inside the case that turns
meshing with a row of teeth on the underside of the tray,
causing the tray to open and close.
What happens if you gently push on
the tray while you push the close button? hopefuly you'll
get the gear to reengage.
