dvd-rom drive not read on booting

Hello

The dvd-rom drive is not read upon booting. I've checked the bios and it is
a first priority for cd-rom drives after removable disks. There is nothing
in the removable disks. I use xp sp2 home.

How can I fix this ? Thank you.

If you set if to first boot option (and temporarily disable the removable
drive option) does it now boot from the DVD?

How do I temporarily disable the removable drive option? Is this from Bios?
I have a flash drive connected to usb hub and a cf card in the card reader.
