DVD rewriter problem

Just moved home - and re-connected the PC & peripherals

Everything is ok except my Freecom external DVD rewriter is acting up- USB
plug/unplug triggers the normal sound effect but the drive won't open.

I've tried the paperclip trick with no success.

So the USB part seems to work but the rest appears dead

Check the power-supply. I had a similar issue with an external CD writer
not opening that came down to a faulty powersupply or connection.

That would make sense - thanks - I may even be using the wrong power adaptor
(they all got mixed up in the move ;-( and it's not like they label them...

Now to hunt through a tangle of cables ;-)
