DVD +/- rewriteable software

I know this is not a MS question but can someone please give me a link to get a DVD/CD +/-
RW type of software. I have MyDVD Plus that came with my OEM Windows XP MCE on my system
but for some reason it will only write once on DVD's It will rewrite CD's. If I try to add
data to the DVD it says to erase the disk when I do that it becomes unusable.
I did a search for this on Goggle but can't find anything. I am sort of new to this so I
am probably going about this the wrong way.

Check the web site of the manufacturer of the DVD drive; many of them
provide software that you can download. And while you're there see if there
is a firmware update for the drive.
 
I already did that couldn't find much. All the software I saw came with the drives. I
went to software sites @ Sonic/Roxio, DVD Copy Pro, 1Click etc. but from what I saw it
seems to be mostly for movies etc. CD/DVD+/- R.

Could not find anything that says rewriteable and appendable. MY drive is compatible with
ALL drive types.
I mainly want software for Data storage backup but need to update it frequently.

My Windows program will do the CD-RW so what I need is DVD+/- RW software.
