DVD+R Burner help

DVD+Rs & +RWs I burn on my computer (Ultra +R/RW) will not play in my
Toshiba SD2800 DVD player. Doing a little searching I found that others get
their disks to work by recording them in "mode2".

I have Nero Express 5.5. I can change the "book" to DVD-ROM which is
supposed to help (but doesn't) but there is no way to change the record Mode
from 1 to 2. I downloaded DVDbitsetter, freeware to adjust this, but every
time I try to run it I get a Preformed illegal operation,must shutdown.

Does anyone know of Burning software with Mode 1/2 selection or another bit
setting program I could try?

Changed Label (ex: SPIDER_MAN)
2x record speed with Maxell DVD-R's
