DVD question

I successfully transferred video to computer. In moviemaker, clips were
automatically recognized (ie. each time I used the camera, MM showed a
separate clip with the date). I didn't do any editing, just dragged
clips down to storyboard. Saved whole thing as a movie (DV-AVI).
Imported into Sonic MyDVD. Burned to DVD. My question is this--why
doesn't the finished DVD retain as chapter breaks the clips? The DVD
just shows one really long chapter. What do I have to do to be able to
save each video session as a separate chapter on the DVD? Thanks

MyDVD 4.5, which is what I use, only handles individual saved movies as
different menu items... it doesn't support chapter points.

Higher end DVD software can handle them, but it would be in your DVD
software, not Movie Maker.... you might be in the same case as me, having to
make separate movies...

MM does just what it says. It makes a movie. There are no chapter points
involved.
If you want chapter points then you need, as PapaJohn said, to make separate
movies in MM and then use a DVD authoring program to create the DVD with
chapter points.
I can recommend two that I use:
My favorite to use is Roxio Easy CD/DVD creator. It works great for creating
a menu driven DVD allowing even for a video background for the menu.
Drawback is that in some cases you can't fit as much on a DVD and it doesn't
allow for resolution adjustments to fix that.
Another I use is Studio FX. This one is good for splitting videos up into
chapter points, which is what your trying to do with your video, and
creating a menu to each of them. This program, however, is much less user
friendly and doesn't allow for a complex menu system (without a lot of work)
and also doesn't support video backgrounds in your menu's.

Hope this helps.

Most low-end DVD authoring programs now include
the ability to add chapter points, including
the latest version of MyDVD.

But no DVD authoring program (high- or low-end)
will automatically create chapter points based
on the clip boundaries you used to create your
movie in Move Maker.
