DVD play Back Error - Red Cross

Hi.

Anyone know why when I play a DVD on my PC it gets as far as the DVD's film
menu but then fails to play the film and displays what appears to be a red
cross with a line at the bottom across the whole screen.

My PC is using Windows XP Sp2, Windows Media Player 10 and NVidia Graphics
card FX5200. DVD drive is a Philips.

Any help appreciated.

May be the problem with the decoder.Check that.Ravisent,InterVideo and
CyberLink all offer more robust decoders
