DVD NO WORK NOW WITH XP

WINDY ZEE

MY DVD IS A SAMSUNG SD-608. WHEN TRYING TO USE NOW WITH XP
I GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS YOUR DVD DECODER IS NOT PRESENT.
I HAVE SEARCHED IN VAIN ON THE NET FOR A SOLUTION. MOST OF
THE SO CALLED FIX IT FILES ARE BOGUS OR NON EXISTANT. IS
MY DVD UNIT OBSOLETE NOW OR DOES A DRIVER SET ACTUALLY
EXIST THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH XP. I HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF
PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE HAS TO BE A DRIVER
OUT THERE THAT WILL WORK. WILL MICROSOFT OFFER A SOLUTION
OR SAMSUNG? LET'S FIND A WAY TO MAKE THIS WORK SOMEHOW. I
AM TOTALLY FRUSTRATED AT THIS POINT.

First of all, turn off your CAPS LOCK!!!! posting in ALL CAPS is the
equivalent of SHOUTING and is considered extremely rude. Many who answer
posts in this newsgroup will ignore a post in ALL CAPS.

You must have a third party DVD decoder installed for Windows Media Player
to play DVDs. Your DVD drive came with a DVD player, most likely PowerDVD
or WinDVD. You must install the DVD software that came with the drive, or
do a search on google for DVD software.
