DVD has no sound

when playing a DVD there is no sound. Intergrated sound
work fine playing all other sound sources. DVD player
plays music CD's sound but not movie DVD's sound only the
vidio. Brand new computer 2.4 ghz 750 ram 40 hD windows
Xp home.
