DVD format?

Guys what format do I use to burn a DVD film to play on a DVD player? WMA
files don't work neither do mpegs. So what do I have to convert it into. And
can I do it using Nero?

Its not film by any means. Its a specific format of mpeg2, specific to DVD.
This is converted into a file format compatible to DVD. Nero will copy
non-commercial DVDs. Nero does not do video conversions. Nero will create
a DVD movie video if the file layout is compatible with DVD format.
Most current converters internally convert its convertible file formats
directly into mpeg2, then DVD file format. Invisible to the user of the
software.
It helps to know what you want converted. Raw video or what?

I've got a WMA file of a short film I made. It cost me £50 to have it
converted to WMA from Beta SP. I figured that with the master now effectively
being on CD I would be able to burn my own DVD's at a fraction of the cost to
send out to Production companies. So I would like to know how to convert wma
into whatever file format DVD uses and what software(if Nero can't do it) do
I need?

I have CyberLink Power Producer that acme with my DVD Writer. It allows you
to import video of all the common types [avi, mpg, wmv , vob etc.]. It
automatically converts when writing to disk. Do a search for "Cyberlink
Power Producer". Install it. It is very easy to use....

Nero does do it,I know because I do it all the time......Use Nero Vision it
is part of the pacage that comes with Nero.
