I updated my Sony Dru-500a Firmware like the directions
said. This included turning off DMA in the
Devices/performance control panel. It never called for me
to do this during previous updates.

During the last system restart I heard a beep like it had
an error right before it shutdown.

It took forever to come back up. When it did the graphic
settings were at 800x600 and only 4bit color!! I receive
the following error:

Error Loading C:\Windows\System32\NvCpl.dll

It will not let me change the graphic settings or use my
browser *prob because the graphic settings too low*

I have turned the DMA back on, Tried System Restore, and
Tried installing the firmware again.

Anyone able to help???

The error you received has to do with your video card not the DVD
player. I have no idea what you did when updating the firmware for
your Sony unless for some strange reason it wiped out your video card
but that's not likely. The beep you heard is a video error sounded
off by the BIOS.

Try re-installing the video drivers and software for your Nvidia card.
