AFAIK up to the limit of the capacity of the media less a small amount for
overhead.

Single layer DVD +/- R/RW +\- 4.5GB
Dual layer DVD +/- R/RW +\- 8.5GB

I need to know the maximum size of a single file.

put the dvd in the drive>>>right click on the dvd drive in my
computer>>>>click properties>>>it should say the capacity there..Does that
help?

Well, since EasyCD Creator can create a single file which spans disks (and I
suppose Nero can as well), the largest single file which can be placed on a
DVD depends on how many DVDs you have.
