** dvd drive **

Hi Guys,

I have tried all fixes found on this website still cant fix this.

My dvd drive wont play any thing.
I have norton anti virus and i insert the cd hear a noise but then nothing.
I go into my computer and i cant see my drive.
I tried uninstalling the drive then restarted my pc to have it re installed
and it says it has done so but still I can find nothing.

I have tried all the xp fixes that people have put up and still nothing

Can any one help i am starting to pull my hair out in frustration over the
whole thing as I cant even import music into my Itunes as it wont read my
cd's

Have you considered that the drive might be bad?
Try it in a another PC or replace it with another and see what happens.

Its an internal drive it came with my pc

That's nice, doesn't mean it's not defective. Internal drives can be
replaced, if you do not want to tackle the job find a local reputable PC
repair shop.
Before you do any more attempts to repair the problem via Windows (and end
up making things worse), you need to find out if the drive is actually good.
