dvd-decoder

Have bought a new laptop - want to play DVD but the
Mediaplayer asks for a compatible DVD-decoder. Discovered
that they cost money...?
Can I do something else to get this or should'nt it be
availiable in the laptop already?

My question: how can I play a DVD record in my brand new
laptop?

You must purchase a DVD Decoder. no way around it. PowerDVD and WinDVD are
the most popular.

There is a free decoder though.
It is called Miksoft.
It is an independant DVD player, but it also lets you watch DVDs in Windows
Media Player.
Got ot http://www.miksoft.8m.com, make sure you get the latest version that
is on the site.
HTH,
Frankie.
