dvd decoder

Hi can anyone suggest a dvd decoder so i can play my dvds
on.everytime i try to play it the audio keeps jumping, it
says i need a decoder whenever i try to open it in
windows, im at my wits end is there a simple sollution,i
would like the de coder to be free cant afford to buy
one.Any suggestions anyone i would be ever so grateful.
 
XP does not include DVD decoders. If you have a DVD ROM the PC normally
includes WinDVD or PowerDVD software which includes the required codecs.
