DVD/CD-RW can't see empty data disk

Oh this is driving me nuts. I need to burn some back up disks and
today my combo drive just doesn't see the blank CD's. I've
uninstalled my burner software. All the ASPI drivers are installed.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the DVD/CD-RW and it still can't see
blank media. It reads all the disks with programs on it just fine.

Help!!
 
Hi,
Rename udfs.sys and imapi.sys in c:\winnt\system32\drivers folder and copy
these two files from a windows 2000 machine which is perfectly working fine
to this folder.
