DVD /CD-ROM/RW

My dvd/cd-rom/rw cannot read the dvd is there anybody
there that could help me with this problem?
 
What dvd playing software are you using to read it? or is it a data disc,
does it show in windows explorer? Is it a home made disc or commercial?
