DVD/CD Drives Quit working!!!!!

Hello, I currently have a hp pavillion desktop that I have had for about a
year. About 4 months ago my internal DVD and CD-RW drives stopped reading
cd, but both could read DVDs. When I couldnt get past this I went and bought
an external DVD-RW drive. Well, today I went to play a DVD and all three of
my drives have completely stopped working. I uninstalled, unplugged,
reinstalled, and updated drivers for all of them, I have also plugged my
external into another PC and it works just fine. I'm a little annoyed at the
whole situation because when I click the troubleshoot option, my computer
tells me that it has no recources and I should do a windows update. I did
that and it still didnt help. PLEASE PLEASE, if anyone can help me it would
be greatly apreciated. Thank you.

Open device manager and post what error code is displayed. If the error code
is listed in the first link below either link below will correct the
problem.
