DVD Burning?

Do you think Windows Movie Maker will be able to burn the
home movied to DVD soon?

No, but other software that burns them today from the Movie Maker movies is
as easy to use, and does as good a job, as I'd expect to see in a Microsoft
product.

But no third-party package can compare to the ease of creating a
HighMAT/video CD.

And unfortunately, there are no "hooks" in WMM2 which third-parties can use
to provide a more integrated VCD/DVD burning experience.
