Here's some possible leads to solve your problem, the same one I got every
time I tried to use the burner:
I bot a MPC ClientPro545 11-03 with two drives, thought top was a CD-ROM
Lite-on-Combo (?) and btm was a Sony burning unit for CD's & DVD's in about
any flavor. Occasionally ever since tried to write to the Sony DVD burner
w/no luck. OS=WIN XP Pro-SP1. Did finally call MPC 24/7 tech support around
midnite last Wed. Tech support asked me about Nero Express 6.0.0.1 shipped
with computer. Told him I did try to d/l updated Nero drvrs once, but
apparently d/l'd Nero Express, Mix and something else. He had me uninstall
all three Nero products, then re-install Nero Express from CD, and then
d/loaded 6.8.?.? update ver. of Express. Still wouldn't burn a DVD.
Tech next had me go to Sony's site to download a free Drive Tester program.
Within a minute the test showed burning feature No Good. Tech put in order
for replacement Sony burner unit. Said it should be in my ofc on Friday. Told
me local MPC repair tech would be watching for delivery. Sure enough, Friday
Fed Ex delivered replacement burner unit around 9:30AM, repair tech arrived
around 2PM and installed the replacement. He even took the bad burner, box
and RMA slip with him to send back to MPC so I wouldn't have to do that!
I must say, this was one great experience for me re MPC and their 3 yr NBD
labor & parts extended warranty plan.
Hope this helps. If you want the URL for the Drive Tester .exe file at
Sony's site, let me know. It's still on my desktop at work.

Oh yeah ... turns out the MPC sales rep had tossed in a freebie and upgraded
the Top CD-ROM drive to a CD/DVD reader and burner, just not with as many
variable settings at bottom unit!!! Had forgotten all about that!
