DV driver

I need the driver "microsoft dv camera and vcr" It is
supposed to be on my XP system. I also tried to download
DirectX but still do not have the driver on my machine. I
bought a Panasonic digital videocam and it is not
recognized by computer. Manual says I need the above
driver, which I cannot find.

It is included with XP.

What actually happens when you connect the digital camcorder to the PC with
a firewire cable, ensuring the camera is powered by A/C and NOT by its
battery, then turn the camera on in VCR mode?

What happens when you reboot the PC WITH THE CAMCORDER ATTACHED and turned
on in VCR mode?

Are you an Administrator or User with Admin Rights?
