I am in Windows XP Pro SP2 Version 2002.
My Office is 2000 Pro, so not sure how Office 97 relates to this.
However, the program where this occurs was built to run in windows, and you
have given me a good idea about registering.
Canvas seldom crashes, but when it does, the event ID is usually app compat.
And I do often open its files as you are describing sometimes.
I have used both Windows, Office, and the other program since about forever.
It's possible there is some old Office 97 piece still lurking around. The
program is Deneba's Canvas, technical illustrations, graphics, and photo
editing, now owned by ACD Systems of America, Inc. I think I'll go over
there and see what they have to say. They may have a special protocol about
registering their program (if that is what is wrong).
