Duplicates - not all the same

B

blander

Hu guys,

I have around 10 k records - i want to get rid of the duplicates..

I know that you can use the advanced filter method...

but problem is that some of the records while are the same are no
exactly identical..

e.g.

They are contacts, so i have a name an address etc

Some of them are from one type of contact group - such as constuction
and some are from other types - such as banking

some contacts belong to both construction and banking

I have to use excel, and i have to record all the data keeping the typ
of groups together...

any ideas on how to do this, and get rid of the duplicates??

When I've had to do this, I eliminate the exact duplicates (advanced filter is
one technique), but then it becomes a manual effort--sorting and checking each
key field.

Are not duplicates to excel--but they probably are in real life.
