This is a continuation of my previous posts on WINNT. I
did a clean install of XP Pro on my computer that had
Windows98 system. Now I see that I have two System32
folders one in each of Windows and WINNT folders. Can I
get rid of one of the System32 folders?

also, if I decide to reinstall my XP on a new-like hard
drive, how can I completely wipe hard drive clean. When I
was installing XP, it did not give me an option to clean
my hard drive.

Thanks for all the help for greenhorns like me.

Firstly there is an option to format first in the installation procedure of
XP.
As it is, it sounds that you didn't do a clean install , which is a
Format/Install, but have either upgraded or simply installed xp.
Prior to doing anything else have you checked for compatibility problems
installing xp on yr sys?
The hd is v.small, is this a laptop?

Yes,

I checked my system requirements and they meet. I also
used new installation procedure.

One of the prompts on a new installation is to Format prior to the
installation. It would appear that you missed this out. I havent worked on
Win98 for some time, but I would guess that the Windows folder is the 98
installation, does it contain any other Folders other than sys32?
Check the dates on the windows/system32 files as compared to winnt/system32
files
Does yr sys give the option of dual boot?
