Duplicate personal folders

I seem to have created duplicate personal folders in the folder list in
OL2000. How do I delete one of these?

Thanks

Right-click on the one that you don't want and choose Close. If that
doesn't work, you may need a new mail profile. In what mode are you using
Outlook, Internet Mode Only or Corporate and Workgroup? Help>About will
tell you.

Thanks for your reply Brian.

I'm using IMO. I can't close the personal folder using the method you
suggested, error message about not being able to close.

This should be quite straightforward to solve, but it's driving me nuts.
Guess I need to find where the personal folders list can be edited.

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks, Duval

Thanks for your reply Brian,

Using IMO. Right click > Close not resolving problem. (not allowed to close
either of the two duplicate personal folders)

This should be very straightforward to solve but is driving me nuts!

Any ideas appreciated.

Normally what you see is the result of a corrupt mail profile, but OL 2000
IMO doesn't provide the means in the Control Panel to create a new one. I'm
not familiar with OL 2000 IMO, so can't be of any assistance with it.

Russ Valentine has described the procedure here before. Googling this group
for his name and "Outlook 2000" may find the prior post.

To create a new "profile" in IMO, quit Outlook then delete this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings

Restart Outlook. It will create a new profile automatically.

Thanks for that.

Sure. IMO is an old relic (thankfully) so only old relics remember it.
