After playing with a new hard drive and formating and
installing WinXP Pro a couple of times I ended up with
two Master Boot Records (MBR) and one boot record (BR)
(this is what was reported by Norton after a scan of my
system). I ran chkdsk and reported a problem with system
files, ran chkdsk with option to fix problem and seems
that the resolution was to create another boot record.
Now when I run Norton at the summary page I see that it
scanned two MBRs and two BRs. There's nothing wrong with
my system but I would like to get rid of the duplicates,
how can I do it?

Thanks,

Luke

Do you have one or two drives in your system. If you have 2 drives,
then what Norton is reporting on the scan is normal.

On my system Norton reports 4 MBR's and 4 BR's. One for each drive I
have.

I had two drives for a while (during my drive upgrade)
but not anymore, I only have one drive.
