Alright, here's the issue:
Got a new laptop last weekend with Windows XP Home on it.
Took it home, installed my software on it (mostly
Macromedia and Java web-development stuff). Everything's
great.
I setup my personal profile and an additional one for my
wife so that, should my wife want to use the new computer,
she could have her own profile and not have to deal with
all of my extra icons and such. Everything's alright.
Then, I saved file to the desktop ... and got two of the
same file. I thought it was a little wierd, but took it
in stride and deleted one ... and they both went away.
That's when I figured something strange was going on.
So I saved another file to the desktop to see if the
problem would replicate itself, and it did. So I went
into the c:/documents and settings/ areas for the various
users, and the only copy of the file anywhere in the
desktop areas there is in my profile, and there's only one
version of the file there even though two appear on the
desktop. So, I'm puzzled.
Anyone else have this problem or know how I might go about
fixing it?
