Duplicate Field Names In A Linked Table

I'm trying to crete an ODBC link in Access to a table in a 3rd party software
package. All tables link fine except for one. This table returns an error
message stating that it encountered "duplicate field names" in the table.
I've checked the source tables and found no duplicate names. I've also
verified the field name length restrictions that might cause name truncation?

This is mission critical. Any help appreciated.

One possibility, Access will treat spaces as underscores, so the names

This_Field
and
This Field

may get treated as the same name. If that is the case, you may need to
create a query in the other file that will change the name of the offending
field(s) and attach to the query instead of the table.
