Duplicate emails in Outlook 2003 - Have read other threads

I am running Outlooking 2003 on Win2k pro service pack 4. I have all the MS
suggested updates installed. I am accessing two POP3 email accounts -
different servers different email addresses etc. One of the POP3 addresses
works fine. The other is a Yahoo account. Every time I download email it
almost finishes and then reports a internal server error. It then downloads
duplicates of the emails I have already received.

I have removed and re-added both of the email addresses. Same outcome, the
Yahoo address server errors and duplicates the emails. I am really
frustrated. I have read several bug postings about turning off copies of
emails on the server.

When I go to the Yahoo site to read email directly, there is no similar
issue. It has to be something to do with Outlook's ability to synchronize the
handoff with Yahoo.

Any ideas?

I had same problem before. After I turned off the Windows Firewall in
the Windows Security Center under Control Panel, it works fine.
Although I am not sure 100% but it worth a try. Good luck!

Hey I had the same problem with GMail but I found out why.
In the "Fowarding and POP" Settings I had toggeled both Forward a Copy to
<Outlook Account> AND Enabled POP Download.
So it was doing BOTH hence duplicates in my Outlook Inbox.
Maybe that's also what you inadvertantly did for Yahoo but not for the other
POP3 account (perhaps it was the default for Yahoo which you need to toggle
off but was an option already set to off for the other account).
Hope this helps! Cheers
