Duplicate dates problem

P

pig

Hi guys,

This is my first post here - and my last hope before I go completeley
insane ! I am having a problem with MS Outlook 2003 calender. I have looked
extensively on the net, but can not see anything remotely like this. Every
date in every view is duplicated - in the individual day boxes, and in the
view header.
Please, please, please can someone tell me what is causing this ? I have
reinstalled numerous times, but it eventually returns ?

Thanks in advance

What version of Outlook? When did this start? Did it ever display
properly? What did you install/uninstall just prior to it stop working
properly? Have you tried a new mail profile?

Thanks Milly - I am using Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6408) SP1
This problem started about 3 months ago. Yes, it worked fine for a while,
and to the best of my knowledge, this issue is not related to any
conflictiong software - I didnt install or uninstall anything prior to this
happening. The strange thing is, if I use XP's system restore, it goes back
to being ok........until the next time !!.Just to be clear - it is the
actual date numbers that are duplicating in the alloted days space - NOT
the actual appointments.
Any ideas ? I tried to post a screen dump, but apparently I cant here.
Thanks

Under Control Panel->Regional Settings, check your date display options.

Nope - I tried the regional date setings Milly - made no difference. I
have 2 profiles set up, and it happens in both of them ? I wish I could
send you a screen dump so you can see exactly what I mean. Is there any
special procedure for uninstalling outlook 2003 because when I do - then
reinstall, all the same information is still there.....appointments,
email etc ?

Last resort - you may want to try a new mail profile. Control Panel->mail
icon->show profiles->add. Do not copy your old one - just configure a new
profile and have it use your current mail store.

I've had the same problem and even used the 'detect and repair' feature - and
lost all my Office settings! I think I've tracked the problem down now. Go to
Tools - Options - Calendar Options - and make sure 'Enable Alternate
Calendar' is un-checked. I don't remember checking it, but I must have.
Anyway, unchecking it has made all those annoying duplicate day dates
disappear.

HTH :)))
