Duel Booting Xp

I am duel booting XP and Vista. I have Vista on C and XP on F. I have an
older XP CD without SP2. I have a CD with SP2. Will SP2 install in the
correct directory by default?
Thanks

Not they are duelling all of the time. ;-)

Your question is vague. You talk about dual booting, then installing SP2.

Are you proposing to just install SP2 to the XP installation, or reinstall
XP with slipstreamed with SP2.

You should clarify to save us guessing and wasting out time on answers to
questions you didn't mean to ask.

I'm sorry. I thought it was pretty clear that I had an older XP disk that
did not have SP2. I have SP2 on a seperate disk, therefore I want to know
which directory to point the install.
Thanks

Thanks. After taking my head out of my rear end I figured it out.

I can read what you typed, but I wasn't sure what you *meant*.

Installing SP2 has nothing to do with a dual boot system, and talk of two
CDs, "older XP", and layout of your partitions, was enough to make me think
you might have wanted to reinstall XP. (in case you haven't noticed many
posters use incorrect terms out of ignorance, or aren't good at describing
things).

You would just boot into your XP installation then run the SP2 CD and setup
does the rest.
No need to "point" it anywhere.

I imagine if you tried to run SP2 under Vista you would get an error.

Good to see you got it sorted though.
