Due to restrictions in effect on your computer - contact admin?

I made some changes ... (somewhere --- I don’t remember where I did it...)
Obviously I did something in one of the system changes, control panel, or
network – I am not sure where - But now for the life of me I cannot find
where it is – that I originally changed these settings.

• I tried a Restore a whole bunch of times - and IT hasn’t changed the
settings back to what they originally where...
• I tried reinstalling windows and that didn’t help either.
• OF coarse I tried scan disk, and went thru virus scans, and all that.
• I’ve tried to go thru every setting in control panel that maybe would help
me, and nothing seems to bring this back.

But anyway, I made a change SOMEWHERE (for example)
• Now users cannot make changes on The "task bar" properties
• The "screen saver" is disabled now, in the options screen. My screen
saver goes on, but I cannot change the screensaver anymore, cannot change the
minutes before the screensaver will start, and cannot change the password –
each of those options I am not able to click on
• It also won’t let me ADD/REMOVE any software, that option is no longer
available in control panel…

I always work in administrator, because I am the only one on the computer,
so I don’t know why it wont let me do any thing now (I am the administrator!)

The error message it says is “this operation has been cancelled due to
restrictions in effect on your computer Contact your system administratorâ€

Back to my question - I want to change whatever it is I did--- Does anyone
know what I did??

I need help with a computer issue!
I changed some setting(s) in my computer (not sure what I did or where I did
it) but ever since the change I am limited on the things I can now change...
which I don’t understand because I am the administrator -- so I should be
able to access whatever it is - and change everything back.
• I cannot access properties in the task bar (bottom title bar) error
message says "THIS OPERATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT
ON YOUR COMPUTER, CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
• Going in screen saver settings, I cannot change the screensaver - the
amount of time before the screensaver goes on, and I cannot change the
password. It is all disabled or lightened where I cannot click on it.
• I cannot no longer use the "ADD/REMOVE" program to add or remove software,
it says THESE CONTROL PANEL ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THE CONTENT OF THIS CONTROL
PANEL HAS BEEN MADE UNAVAILABLE BY YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - TO MAKE
CHANGES IN THIS AREA - CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.
I tried: disk scan, virus run, restoring from a bunch of different dates,
and reloading windowsXP....
Back to my question - I want to change whatever it is I did---
Does anyone know what I did? Can You HELP? I'd be so very grateful!

Did you use group policy to change the settings?

Start>Run type "gpedit.msc" without the quotation marks
