Dual WIN2000 on bootup

Jim

After booting my computer this morning I got an error that my page file size
was too small. I could not access c drive in any way shape or form. I
suspected a virus (I set the computer up last week and had not loaded any
anti-virus software yet) and decided to just format the c drive and reload
(not repair) WIN2000. I deleted the c drive partition, made it active again
then formatted the drive (using WIN2000 setup disk). Now after loading
WIN2000 I get the display which lists the operating system to load and
WIN2000 is listed twice. What did I do wrong and what do I need to do to
correct this?

Thanks,

Jim

Delete the extra startup line from boot.ini found in the root of the system
partition.

What happened is it doubled the boot record see for when
you do a dual boot machine with installing win2k first
then 98 or something else to that extent it adds the
second os to the boot record. you should probally
reinstall after you do this just to be safe but when you
format you should always then do

c:\>format \mbr (format master boot record)

That should fix it
