Night Owl

Hi,

I've got a built-in soundcard on my Gigabyte mobo, but want to add a
Creative Audigy 2 card as well. Is it possible to install it and use them
both, or should I disable the built-in one?

TIA,

Pete

I have two soundcards up and running
very nicely, thanks very much.

It's possible.

Create a restore point and try it.

VGreen, I'm curious do you have a similar setup as Night Owl or two PCI
sound cards? I've heard of that config as
successful but not a built in sound chip.

Using the Analog Devices onboard stuff (ASUS PC-DL MB)
and a Videum 1000 video capture device which has integrated
sound capabilities (shows up and can be used as another sound
device).

They coexist just fine.

I can play files through both simultaneously, but in real
life have no need to do so.

My motherboard disables the built-in audio if you install an audio card.
Read your manual.

Thanks for the replies.

I was thinking along the lines of using the Audigy for everything, except
for the audio for MSN Messenger, but perhaps I don't need to.
