dual processing ???

i have a pent4 computer with 1 gig of memory. What is the advantage of
dual processing ??
The computer is used for digital audio editing

In some cases it can be completely useless. If your app does all of its processing in the same thread (as most do) then only one
processor will be working anyway. However, it does have some advantages. If you run an app at 100% cpu for long periods of time then
the computer won't get bogged down and will still be usable. If your app supports it then it will run twice as fast.
