Hi there,
If the drive is NTFS then you're screwed.. lol you can't install 98 on an NTFS drive. (chances are it is NTFS)
If it isn't NTFS (which I doubt) install 98 like normal in DOS (you don't have to do it in DOS but I would...) lol but change the installation folder.. instead of the normal 'WINDOWS' make it 'WINDOWS98' or something like that instead.. don't install 98 and XP in the same 'WINDOWS' folder (or it won't work properly)
Thx for reading, hope this helps.

Not quite. If the system drive is NTFS then you can use
a third-party boot manager in order to multi-boot. Some,
such as XOSL, are free and are excellent.

The man wants to install W98 on another, new, drive but does not say if he
wants to transfer files between XP and W98 drives.
Direct file transfer between NTFS and FAT16/32 (at least it did not work on
my machine :))is not possible; you can use a Ramdisk or some other
interface.
Otherwise, depending on your system and BIOS, you might waste time swaping
drives - either in bios or changing pins.

What you say is incorrect. If the OS supports NTFS and
FAT16/32 then you can transfer files between the two of
them. WinXP does support these file systems. If you
were unable to do it then there was something very
wrong with your PC.

WinXP can transfer files between Win98 FAT and WinXP NTFS. Win98 can't
even read NTFS partitions, but after WinXP transfers a file, it is FAT
and Win98 reads the file.
