I have had dual monitors set up successfully. This morning when I started
the computer the settings had been lost. I can't get them reset. I believe
the problem is that the machine is confused about which is the primary and
which is the secondary monitor. When I "identify" monitors, they both show
up as #1. When I try to extend the desktop to #2 and click "apply" the
"extend desktop" checkbox unchecks itself. The window below the 2-monitor
display shows that #1 is the external monitor and #2 is the laptop monitor.
Please help. this is driving me crazy because I've done it in the past but
never knew exactly what worked... it just worked after trying different
things.
thanks
