Recently I once again have put up two monitors, but this time with XP Pro,
it has not been all beer and skittles. Now my main problem is the resolution
of the second monitor. Running on its own it can run in high Res (32 bit,
64K), but in tandent with my main screen, I can only run it at 16 bit
800X600.
When I view properties the two screen are there with the main screen
(Default) on high res, and the seconf screen on real low res. A certain
amount of juggling can go on with the settings of the two screens, but I
still only have 800x800 for 2nd screen.
I have upped some of the bias settings to no avail.
Any suggestions will be gladly read.

search out some alternate drivers for the S3 card ...IIRC I had a hard time
finding drivers that would do over 800X600

Just a guess, but if you are running both monitors from the same video card,
perhaps it doesn't have enough memory to do what you want.

Used, some of the Matrox G4xx dual head cards are dirt cheap now,
probably because kids want better stuff for games, but I've had
great experience using these for dual monitor support. And it
has the advantage of being a single mfgr, single driver, single
card, etc, etc, etc. I should buy a few more before they disappear.

Does your Matrox G400 card have Dualhead Display? Can you use that in lieu
of the S3 Trio32/64?

Are you using Windows XP?
