Dual monitors with P4GE-V, help

D

Dennis

Hi,

I'm using a P4GE-V . I want to run dual monitors for CAD.

When I put my Matrox in a PCI slot the onboard
monitor won't display, blank. But the other
monitor on the Matrox works just fine. Any
help would be appreciated.

TIA,

Dennis

Have you set boot priority in BIOS to AGP?
I think boot needs to be AGP to enable onboard stuff, make sure it isn't
disabled as well.

When it boots it should show both during boot and turn off PCI, just go into
display properties and enable the second monitor.

The correct definitions are...... primary and secondary monitors. Note the
plural on secondary monitors because all additional monitors are secondary
even if you have 3 like I do. The Award BIOS will always by default
automatically make the first (closest slot to AGP)PCI slot the primary
monitor. Primary is where things boot up and the only display that will
show things like video. GO into BIOS and set AGP as Primary.

If you had 2 PCI cards and one AGP and you allowed BIOS to automatic default
to the first PCI (primary), then the AGP and other PCI card in second slot
would both be secondary monitors.
