Dual monitors and hyperlink question

I have a PowerPoint show that has a "Master Show" with 6 slides, one of which
has 6 hyperlinks to other slide shows. I use the dual monitor option with
the Presenter View on my laptop. However, when I select a hyperlink on the
2nd monitor (The Slide Show), the Presenter view on the laptop does not
follow along with the slide show. The hyperlinks are active on the presenter
view on the laptop and it just moves to the next slide. How can I (or can I)
make the laptop follow the hyperlinks selected on the second monitor?

As far as I can tell, and I've tried everything I can think of, this is a
serious deficiency with Presenter View that makes is moderately useless for
other than simple presentation.
You can run dual monitors not in presenter view, but even that is
restrictive.

Keep the pressure on for an upgrade!
