Dual Monitor Wallpaper problem

I have 2 17" 1280x1024 LCD monitors. I have it setup so my primary
display sits in front of me and the secondary 'extended' display sits
to the left.

The problem I am having is that a 'dual screen wallpaper' (2560x1024)
will start on my right screen and then the 2nd half will wrap around
to the left screen. So it's like the right side of the image is on the
left and the left side of the image is on the right.

If I set the left monitor to the primary, the wallpaper displays
correctly but forces my taskbar to be on the left monitor. I tried
switching the ports they are plugged into and then going into display
properties and moving the displays there - same issue.

Any idea how to configure windows to keep my taskbar on the right with
the wallpaper starting on the left?

Looks like I can use ultramon, but I'd prefer not to use a feature
loaded utility like that...

Go into Display properties and drag Monitor 1 across to the right side of
Monitor 2.. you can stack them too, but sit well back from the pile..

I don't understand. I have two monitors set up but when I select a
background, the same picture shows up on each monitor. The picture doesn't
stretch across the two monitors. Is there a way to have one wide picture
show up across the two monitors?
