I just made my computer a dual boot, with xp and 2000.. I
have a vaio gr300 laptop.. My problem is.. I can't seem to
get windows 2000 to give me the extended desktop option.
I've been using some other software to force it to do
that.. Without the software, all i can do is have a second
monitor.. not an extended desktop.. It works fine in XP,
but in 2000, it simply won't give me the option.. I did
install the rite drivers, but they just don't give me the
option.. so I was forced to edit some other drivers that
give me the fuction in their options.. but it still dosn't
work the way it should.. Can anyone help...?
The video card is a ati mobile radeon...

Thanks for any help

Win2k, on its own, doesnt give/support extended desktop.
Extended desktop has to be used/enabled with software/graphics card.
The Graphics card has to support this function.
ATI supplies chipsets (mobile) to pc manu and its the pc manu. that decrees
what you get.
ATI doesnt supply mobile radeon drivers these have to obtained from pc manu.
(Sony)
ATI uses Hydrovision software for multi monitor support. ( in its own cards)

Using the incorrect drivers can cause problems, not least a boot failure.
