Dual Boot Revisited - I hope

B

Bobbie Leslie

I have a second machine with a 120gig hard drive that I intend to
install WindowsXP Pro SP2 streamlined (I hope it works), it is
networked to the dual boot machine and wondered if after I get the OS
installed if I couldn't go to File and Setting Transfer Wizard and
transfer all the stuff from the XP portion of the dual boot to the new
machine. Will that work or am I just whistling Dixie???
Thanks,
Bob

Hi,

Boot the old system, run the FAST wizard and export the settings to a
location that you will be able to reach from the new one. Then boot the new
one and import it.

Minor point but you mean slipstreamed, not streamlined.

You are right!! Sometimes I type faster than I think; however, with
the slipstreamed CD is certainly a large improvement over using both
the WincowsXP Pro install and the SP2 update CD's kinda' makes it
streamlined don't you think<g>?

Yes it does, and less prone to error, I believe so the analogy certainly
does work.
