Dual-boot or multiboot with Windows 2000

I have come across a few articles from www.microsoft.com
written for this subject. It warns us to install newer OS
after the older ones. For example: NT4 must be installed
before XP. If not, or if NT4 is re-installed after XP, XP
will become un-bootable because certain XP files would be
overwritten by NT during the time NT is installed.

I need two more confirmations:
1) Suppose I only need in my hard disk Win2000 and XP. Of
course I follow the advice to install XP last. But will re-
installing Windows 2000 destroy XP like NT4 does?

2) An NT4 re-installation after XP is installed will
overwrite files XP required for booting. We can only
either repair XP or re-install XP (no fun either way) so
that is the case. But can we take precaution steps before
we re-install NT4?

Yes, you can use the WinXP Recovery Console to fix it though.

Precautions? No, you just (again) need to repair afterwards by rebuilding
the boot files from the WinXP Recovery Console.
