Ok here is my question. Im not a tech guy so I dont want to do this if its
not going to work. My main C drive is a Sata drive and My E drive is an IDE
drive. I wanted to load Vista on the E drive and once all is said and done be
able to start the computer and have a choice of which OS I boot up to each
time. For I may not want to boot to Vista all the time or XP Pro all the
time. If I load Vista on the IDE drive will my computer still work fine. Will
i say be able to boot to vista on my E drive and see my other drive that has
XP Pro and all my files on it. Or will I have to go through a big ol process
to make this all work. I am trying all of MS betas and have the Office 2007
beta, office live beta and love them both and would really like to try the
VIsta Beta as well. But not if its going to mess up my whole system and I
wont have a choice which OS to boot to or if it will just give me a black
screen becuase if it does then I have no way of coming back here for help.
Your help and input is much appreciated in advance.

Who is the Windows Vista BETA 2 for?

IT Professionals, Developers, Enthusiast, people who like to back up their
data and try out new things and don't have issues just in case something
goes wrong installing the software.

So, there is no guarantee that there might not be a problem. Yes, it should
work just fine, just launch setup from within XP, when the Custom option
becomes available, click it and select the partition you dedicated for
Vista. The Windows Vista boot manager will take over, your XP install will
be located under the Earlier Versions of Windows boot entry.

It is for me and my home computer. I have the Extra drive that has some files
but I dont mind losing them. My C drive is the main drive with win xp pro the
other drive used to have xp pro but I messed it up so when I got this newer
computer I just took the drive out and installed it on the IDE cable which
allowed me to access the files on it. But there is nothing left that I dont
mind losing. I just dont want to have a problem or have to switch this cable
and that cable. I just want when the computer starts to have a choice boot to
Vista or XP Pro. I dont know whether its a big ordeal or not becuase the Main
drive is a Sata and the other is a IDE. My current boot drive of course is
the Sata Drive.
