Dual Boot install question

So I have a dual boot XP on one side and Vista on the other, I notice a
different looking boot loader. If I go back format the XP partition and
re-install it would that make the boot loader go crazy?

Vista uses a new bootloader. It uses a boot configuration data store.
Vista does not use a boot.ini file.

The boot options screen will show you Microsoft Windows Vista and Old
Version of Windows (your XP). You can rename the entries, change the time
out before boot, and set the default boot option with VistaBoot Pro from
http://www.vistabootpro.org/intro.php.

Reinstalling XP will render Vista unbootable. I suggest you look at what is
going on with VBP and then look at
